Active Wellness... and founder Gayle Reichler ![]() Gayle Reichler, MS, RD, CDN is the creator of the Active Wellness Program and founder and President of Active Wellness, Inc. Her mission to help people feel good for life emerged from a personal desire to stay well after overcoming cancer at a young age. In the Active Wellness program, Gayle has translated her nutrition, and educational and culinary expertise into a healthy lifestyle that's simple to personalize, easy to adapt, and satisfying to maintain. As a licensed nutritionist and chef, Gayle has provided consultation
to individuals and groups including; Ricki Lake, GE/NBC, the American Heart Association,
New York Sports Club - TSI, and Sony Music. Prior to founding her company, Gayle worked as
a nutritionist for the Dean Ornish Program at Beth Israel Medical Center, as an adjunct
professor at New York University in the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies, and at
Canyon Ranch Spa in the Berkshires.
Gayle lectures and speaks internationally on topics involving nutrition, health promotion and healthy cooking. In 1998, she was named one of the nation's top ten nutritionists by Harper's Bazaar magazine. Her first book, Active Wellness: Feel Good For Life: A Personalized 7-Step Program for Your Body, Mind, and Spiritual Health, has been recently published by Penguin Putnam 2004 and is available through www.amazon.com and www.barnesandnoble.com
