A healthy and productive workforce is something every organization strives for. Traditionally, the way to achieve this goal is to provide wellness programs for employees that focus on outcomes, biometrics, assessments, and other aspects which emphasize only the physical health of the employee. Of course, a healthy body will positively impact your employees in numerous ways, and may even prompt the increase in productivity you are looking for, but is it enough to sustain and retain your employees? Will taking a health assessment year after year result in healthier employees?

Over the years we’ve started to see a shift from this traditional wellness model to more well-being focused. The term well-being is making a bold statement that there is more to your health than just the physical element. It’s a holistic approach that has started to incorporate other components of health such as financial, emotional, mental, spiritual and community. At Active, we believe in this shift and have implemented our employee well-being program, Live Actively. Our program focuses on  five elements of well-being: career, social, financial, physical and community. We are striving to support our employees’ well-being to help them perform at the highest level of excellence each day, both at work and at home. From mindfulness programs to financial health, stress management resources to work-life balance events, we have incorporated the tools our employees need to make behavior changes, which result in a happier, healthier, more active workforce.
