Boost Immune System with Exercise

While many know the long-term benefits of exercise, like increasing bone strength and decreasing risk of heart disease, it’s a good time to focus on the short-term benefits that exercise can deliver.

Exercise gets us into our target heart rate and can boost antibodies and white blood cells.  The increased circulation during exercise serves as a natural detox (drink lots of water!) and can help the immune system function more effectively. Physical activity may help flush bacteria out of the lungs and airways, and the brief rise in body temperature during exercise may help fight infection.

Many are experiencing high levels of anxiety. The good news is countless studies have shown that exercise releases oxytocin, which combats stress hormones. Lower stress can also boost immunity.

Now more than ever, Team Active encourages you and your community to live actively and be well!
