Exciting news! FireFlex is partnering with University of California San Franciso’s Dr. Wolf Mehling for robust statistical analysis of the unparalleled results we’ve compiled over six years delivering yoga to fire stations. At UCSF, Dr. Mehling created a survey that measures a person’s ability to notice the internal state of one’s body during stress, surprise, or calm moments. FireFlex has utilized this assessment, called Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness (MAIA), to track results for first responders before and after they complete the FireFlex 10-Week Academy.

In addition to the interoceptive assessment, firefighters complete the Functional Movement Screen, which measures flexibility and mobility. These pre- and post-assessments, and the customized program delivered by certified instructors, make FireFlex exclusively unmatched in the field of first responder wellness.

It’s our intention and mission to promote widespread acceptance and adaptation of yoga for first responders around the world. We are looking forward to sharing with you the results of the data analysis.
